The CM4 XGO Lite is an innovative smart robot dog that is based on the Raspberry Pi CM4 system-on-module. This four-legged robot comes equipped with a 3-joint robot arm and a gripper on its back, enabling it to pick up light objects. The AI module of the CM4 XGO Lite is comprised of a Raspberry Pi CM4 module, a 2.0-inch IPS display, a 5MP camera, a micro HDMI video output interface, a built-in speaker, a built-in microphone, and four programmable keys. It also features a microSD card slot, a USB-C port for programming, and a 4-pin connector for serial communication and power.

The CM4 XGO Lite comes packaged in an aluminum case for easy portability, with foam inside to protect the internal components during transportation. The kit includes the robot dog, a battery charger, HDMI and USB cables, a set of colored balls and cubes, screwdrivers and screws, and a user manual.

The robot relies on metal gear servos with a torque of 2.3 kg and the ability to rotate by 300 degrees. These servos are used both in the legs and the robotic arm of the CM4 XGO Lite. They are controlled through a TTL serial connector and can operate with a power input ranging from 4.8V to 7.4V.

Controlling the CM4 XGO Lite robot is made easy with the XGOBOT mobile app, available for both Android and iOS. The app allows users to control the robot through their smartphone, providing various modes for changing the robot’s posture, walking or trotting, controlling the robotic arm, and viewing real-time camera output.

In addition to smartphone control, the CM4 XGO Lite also offers a “Try Demo” mode, which allows users to interact with various pre-programmed AI-related robot programs. These programs include face detection, object detection, color detection, and more, providing an opportunity to explore AI capabilities without the need for coding.
