SEGA Announces Like a Dragon Direct for Upcoming Titles

SEGA has revealed that they will be hosting a RGG Like a Dragon Direct on September 19th. This direct will provide fans with the latest news, trailers, and more regarding two highly anticipated titles, “Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name” and “Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.” The stream will be Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s first dedicated Western broadcast and will serve as a counterpart to the RGG Summit airing in Japan.

“Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name” is set to release on November 9th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. However, there is limited information available about “Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth,” the eighth mainline installment in the Yakuza series. RGG Studio has previously announced that it is slated for an early 2024 release.

During a recent interview at gamescom, Like a Dragon series producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto shed some light on “Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name” and the decision to bring back Kiryu as a protagonist. Despite the events of previous games such as “Yakuza 6: Song of Life” and “Yakuza: Like a Dragon,” Sakamoto confirmed that it was always the plan to include Kiryu.

This SEGA announcement adds to a busy week of direct presentations, with Nintendo and PlayStation also revealing their plans for upcoming events. Fans of the Yakuza series and those interested in these two new games can look forward to the RGG Like a Dragon Direct on September 19th, which will be streamed on SEGA’s Twitch and YouTube channels.
