Nintendo has officially confirmed that a Sora amiibo will be released next year. This announcement came during the recent Nintendo Direct, bringing relief to amiibo collectors who have been eagerly awaiting this news. The Sora amiibo completes the Super Smash Bros. amiibo series, which began ten years ago with the release of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS in 2014. Despite concerns regarding Sora’s connection to Disney, fans can now look forward to adding this highly anticipated amiibo to their collections.
In addition to the Sora amiibo, Nintendo also shared news about other upcoming releases. Zelda and Ganondorf from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be available on November 3, while Noah and Mio from Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be released as a 2-pack on January 19, 2024. The Zelda characters will be sold individually.
Furthermore, Nintendo will be releasing the Splatoon 3 amiibo, featuring idols Shiver Frye and Big Man, on November 17.
Overall, this Nintendo Direct provided exciting updates for amiibo collectors. With the announcement of the Sora amiibo and the upcoming releases of various other characters, fans have plenty to look forward to in the coming months.
