MSG Sphere, known for its giant LED screens and immersive experiences, is taking Las Vegas to the future with the introduction of Aura, the world’s most advanced humanoid robot. Five Aura robots will be permanently stationed at the MSG Sphere, located at the grand atrium, to greet and assist guests.
Aura is designed to have lifelike facial expressions and full mobility. Unlike carnival fortune teller robots, Aura has voice recognition capabilities and can focus on one person speaking directly in front of her at a time. With artificial intelligence, Aura continues to learn from guest interactions, enhancing her ability to assist and engage with visitors.
The robots will serve as “spokesbots” and will provide directions, offer details on performances, and answer questions about the MSG Sphere’s engineering, technology, and creative mission. They will also act as brand ambassadors, helping manage digital platforms and social channels.
MSG Ventures CEO David Dibble stated that Aura’s facial movements and recognition are stunning and fascinating. While some may find her creepy, her ability to track and interact with guests is impressive. The development of Aura and other humanoid robots took three to four months each.
The MSG Sphere, spanning the size of the Statue of Liberty or the Saturn V rocket, opens to the public on September 29. U2 will be the first to perform a series of 25 concerts, followed by the premiere of a 360-degree experience titled “Postcard From Earth,” written and directed by Darren Aronofsky.
With its cutting-edge technology and immersive experiences, the MSG Sphere aims to transport visitors to different worlds and attractions. The addition of humanoid robots like Aura in the atrium contributes to this theme and enhances guests’ overall Sphere Experience.
