1. HP’s Foldable PC
HP unveiled its new Spectre Foldable PC, which aims to cover all three markets: laptop, tablet, and desktop. This 3-in-1 device comes with a 17-inch OLED tablet that can be transformed into a laptop or desktop PC by attaching a Bluetooth keyboard and using a built-in kickstand. While the Spectre Foldable looks interesting, it comes with a hefty price tag of $5,000, making it a niche product for now.
2. New Cameras from Fujifilm, Panasonic, OM System, and Blackmagic
Several new cameras were announced, including the Fujifilm GFX100 II, a powerful medium-format camera that rivals full-frame cameras in speed. Panasonic also released the Lumix G9 II, a flagship micro four thirds mirrorless camera. The OM System Tough TG-7 was introduced as an updated waterproof camera for outdoor adventures. Lastly, Blackmagic surprised everyone with its first full-frame 6K video camera at a competitive price.
3. iRobot’s Smarter Roomba Vacuums
iRobot launched its new Roomba j9+ and Roomba Combo j9+ vacuums, equipped with real-time navigation and object recognition. These smart vacuums are better at picking up debris and avoiding obstructions. The Combo j9+ also features a new design that brings the mop down from a storage spot on top of the robot, reducing the risk of a dirty mop catching on the carpet. Additionally, a software update will improve the mopping capabilities.
4. Samsung Galaxy Ring
The Samsung Galaxy Ring, a smart ring wearable, was spotted in files of the official Galaxy Wearable app. Although no official images or specs have been leaked yet, this suggests that Samsung is entering the smart ring market soon.
5. Apple’s AirPods and EarPods with USB-C
Apple announced that the upcoming AirPods Pro 2 will feature a USB-C charging case, and even the original EarPods will have a USB-C port. The AirPods Pro 2 will also have enhancements like reverse charging from an iPhone and improved dust resistance. Both the AirPods Pro 2 and EarPods will have the same prices as their current models.
6. iPhone 15 Pro Max’s Powerful Camera
The iPhone 15 Pro Max features a 5x optical zoom, a first for iPhones. While other companies have had this feature for years, it’s a significant upgrade for iOS users. Apple also showcased other photographic improvements at their iPhone 15 event.
