AeroVironment Acquires Tomahawk Robotics to Accelerate Implementation of AI and Autonomy

AeroVironment, a leading manufacturer of unmanned aircraft systems, has completed the acquisition of Tomahawk Robotics, a developer of artificial intelligence-enabled robotic control and integrated communications systems. The acquisition, valued at $120 million, will allow AeroVironment to integrate Tomahawk Robotics’ technologies into its own platforms, further enhancing its offerings in AI and autonomy.

Under the agreement, Tomahawk Robotics will become part of AeroVironment’s small unmanned aircraft systems business unit. By bringing together the expertise of both companies, AeroVironment aims to offer the best solutions for its customers’ operational needs.

As part of the acquisition, AeroVironment will now serve all of Tomahawk Robotics’ existing customers and plans to introduce their solutions to its growing network of more than 55 allied nations. This expansion will create new opportunities for both companies to leverage their combined expertise in unmanned systems and robotics.

This strategic acquisition highlights AeroVironment’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements in the unmanned aircraft systems industry.
